Baskets ahead of the Euro-Aus
Bonn / Kazan --
Invincible was not the resounding favorite Unics Kazan (Russia).
But the Telekom Baskets Bonn found Tuesday evening in the third game of Eurocup not to their top form and collected its third consecutive defeat.
The 64:76 at one of the favorites to win the Cup is almost synonymous with the competition from the heavily occupied.
The baskets have now the remaining three games (to win at home against Kazan and Istanbul, in Badalona) in Group D to maintain their theoretical mini-chance.
3000 spectators in the modern "Basket-Hall" saw only during the first six minutes a balanced game. But the state from 12:10 to Kazan, the Russians turned on and moved up to the mid-term at 39:27 of it.
Throughout the second half of Bonn, although every now and then came up a bit, but the Russian Cup was always the right answer, so the victory of the favorite until the final siren was never really in danger.
Especially the 15 threes (in Bonn, only one side was the target) the baskets against the best team in Europe, this statistic certainly broke his neck. Best Bonner was Chris Ensminger (16 points, six rebounds), the Tuesday in the Russian cold (minus eleven degrees) its 36th Birthday celebration. Among the hosts of the Croat Marko Popovic (17 points) hit the best.
In the table, only the two best teams (more to come) keep the Russians a 3-0 victory against Joventut Badalona (2:1). Istanbul is third (1:2), Bonn, the rear (0:3). On Wednesday, the team flies back to Bonn. Here then begins on the evening preparing for the Bundesliga game against TBB Trier.
Because of the live coverage on DSF this game on Friday (19.10 clock) has been brought forward. "For us this is certainly not happy, but now views the other hand, we can not do anything," Koch found himself with the circumstances.
